Unethical Photoshopping

A. On April 1st in Israel it was portrait day for the cabinet and someone ended up editing the picture that the photographer took. They went over the two women in the cabinet and digitally replaced them with men to make it an all men cabinet. On April 1, 2007 another photographer and photoshopped a picture of the Bluffton University baseball team. They were all praying about fellow team mates that they lost and the photographer edited a man in the background so that he had no legs.

B. I think this kind of photo editing is unethical because it completely changes the meaning or purpose of the picture. I think it is okay to edit a picture and emphasize certain parts to make the photo look better but I don't think its okay to change the subjects of the photo.

I think the editing they did to the photo above is very unethical because it changes the meaning of the picture. Before it was edited the soldier had his arm out like he was telling the man to stop but now he has no arm out and its just him and his gun. Now it looks like the soldier wants the man to come to him so that he can kill him.
I think the editing of this photo isn't that bad because it doesn't have a very significant change. All they did was move the pyramids a little closer together to make the picture look better. I don't think anybody would get offended by the change in this photo so therefore I don't think it is unethical.
