The Camera

The Camera

1.The "camera obscure" effect is acheived when a tiny hole is created in one wall inside of a completely dark room. Light is focused through the hole and the outside scene is projected upside down on the opposite wall.

2. In the 17th century the understanding of optics and the process of making high quality lenses was perfected. This invention helped us to get one step closer to the modern camera.

3. The 3 parts of the first modern camera invented by Niepce are film, a dark box, and a glass lens.

4. The modern camera is still very much the same as Neipce's camera because they boy use the same process of taking a photograph and modern camera's still have the same main parts.

5. To capture an image, digital camera's use a electric sensor called a CCD which replaces old-fashioned plastic film.

Camera Modes

6. Auto mode completely controls flash and exposure while program mode is just an automatic assist even though you can sometimes control the flash and exposure.

7. Portrait mode tries to use the fastest available lens setting to blur out the background and get a better picture of the main object.

8. Sports mode is used to freeze the action by using the fastest possible shudder speed so that the camera gets the exact picture you want.

The Half-Press

9. You should use the half press on the trigger button because it will help keep the picture in focus and it has a faster full-press response.

Controlling Flash

10. The symbol means that you have disabled the flash and you would want to do that when there is more natural light because it will make it more dramatic.
