Jerry Uelsmann
Jerry Uelsmann was born on June 11, 1934 in Detroit, MI. At the age of 14 he had sparked an interest in photography because he believed it was a good way to express himself and "live through the camera." When he was a young adult he landed a few jobs, usually photographing models. As he grew older he went to the Rochester Institute of Technology and Indiana University. He went on to teach photography at the University Of Florida. Jerry published 5 books and his most recent was titled Approaching the Shadows. His photography can be found in the opening scenes of several television shows. His photography style requires extensive time in a dark room because they are edited and they aren't normal pictures.
